Our mission
GreenLeaf Journal exists because most gardening advice on the internet is recycled, oversimplified, or written by people who have never actually grown the plant in question. We publish patient, research-backed gardening journalism for home gardeners who want to do this well — across a single season or a lifetime.
How we work
Every guide we publish is researched, drafted, and edited by experienced horticulturists. We trial techniques in our own gardens before we recommend them, and we cite university extension services, peer-reviewed research, and the Royal Horticultural Society rather than recycling tips from social media.
Our editorial process is transparent. You can read our editorial policy, our fact-checking policy, and our disclaimer at any time.
Independence
GreenLeaf Journal is independently owned and operated. We do not publish sponsored content disguised as editorial, and we do not accept payment in exchange for product recommendations. Where we link to products, those links are chosen on merit — not on commercial relationship.
How we are funded
Our work is funded through a combination of display advertising, an optional reader newsletter, and online courses. None of these funding sources influence what we cover or how we cover it.
Darcy Parry
Senior Horticulturist & Editor-in-Chief
Darcy Parry is a horticulturist, garden writer, and the founding editor of GreenLeaf Journal. She holds an RHS Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Horticulture and a B.Sc. in Plant Sciences from the University of Bristol. Over the past twelve years she has managed a one-acre organic market garden in the Cotswolds, consulted on private estate kitchen gardens across the UK, and trained more than 400 home gardeners through community workshops.
